Keplera, a legaltech startup that simplifies the creation and management of legal documents, announces that it has closed a €770,000 investment round underwritten by the Magic Mind accelerator, participated by Zest and the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, by OpenT, a 50-50 joint venture of Tinexta and Zest, and by Frontech, the accelerator for frontier technologies of the CDP Venture Capital National Network.
Keplera develops LexHero, an all-in-one solution to manage legal documents more efficiently and securely. LexHero integrates artificial intelligence-based features such as an intelligent editor, which facilitates the creation, storage, sharing and signing of documents. The software enables end-to-end encryption for secure document management, which is essential for companies handling sensitive information. LexHero also includes a digital electronic signature solution with dynamic password or SPID, making it an effective tool for companies of all sizes and industries.
In 2025 Keplera is experiencing significant development, thanks to a constantly growing turnover and ongoing collaborations with important players such as Infocert, OpenDotCom and ENEA. Moreover, the company has also started activities in the corporate world with companies such as Edison, Banca Popolare dell’Emilia-Romagna and the Intesa Sanpaolo group.
Founded with the mission to innovate legal services, the startup operates in an industry, the legaltech sector, that globally reached a value of $26.7bn in 2023 and is expected to reach $55bn by 2029, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.80% during the period 2024-2029, the company says in a note.
“We are very pleased with the innovations we are making in the legal sector, and the recently completed round will enable us to sustain healthy yet rapid growth by continuing to invest in technology and the development of domestic and international markets. In addition, working with first-class partners gives us the opportunity to constantly improve and open up new market perspectives. Finally, we are very happy with the contribution made in our territory, Sicily, offering impact and opportunities thanks to strong and constant relations with Italian and foreign realities,’ says Manfredi Domina, CEO of Keplera, pictured here with the team.
“Artificial intelligence is redefining the future of the legal industry, radically transforming the way law firms and consultancies operate. Keplera perfectly embodies our vision on AI: a strategic ally that optimises document management, accelerates processes and enhances the work of professionals, creating an ecosystem where efficiency and innovation go hand in hand,” adds Gabriele Ronchini, CEO of Zest Investments and vice chairman of OpenT’s investment committee.
“Keplera’s recent funding round confirms the strategic value of AI in the legal sector. Through OpenT, the Tinexta Group supports innovative solutions that optimise processes, improve efficiency and enhance the work of professionals. Keplera represents a concrete example of how artificial intelligence can revolutionise document management and consultancy, in line with our vision of an increasingly digital future,’ says Valerio Zappalà group chief M&A and integration of Tinexta and managing director of OpenT.
“The investment in Keplera is particularly satisfying for us. We strongly believe in this team’s project, which through artificial intelligence aims to make a complex sector such as the legal sector, which is seemingly detached from technological innovations, more efficient. This type of entrepreneurial project reflects exactly the target audience we want to intercept with Frontech. We are convinced that technology and AI can be used in all production sectors and that through Keplera’s innovations it can improve the work of thousands of professionals,’ concludes Stefano Molino, Head of the Accelerator Fund at CDP Venture Capital.
